LEGO sets of my youth

4712: Troll on the Loose

This set was given to me in 2001 by my neighbor/ old babysitter, Alex. I don’t think she knows how much I cherish(ed) it. It is crazy to see how all of the old HP sets in boxes can catch some serious money on ebay. But I’m glad I played with this a lot instead.

6713: Grip 'n' Go Challenge

This was the hardest set to track down. All I had in my memory was “2 cars” “feelers” “grey ball”. Thanks to Brickset I was able to track it down through their part finder. Luckily the grey ball was only used in two sets.

I loved playing with this set. It has so many cool parts and designs to it! You pulled back on the bricks to open the arms, the figures had awesome racings jerseys, there was a scoreboard, and who dosen’t love the ref who looks like he is a waiter at an Italian restaurant??

4120 LEGO Creator Fun and Cool Transportation

I fondly remember getting this lego set for my birthday from my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jeff. This is probably one of the toys that gave me the most joy over the years. Endless play was had with this box of legos. I never got rid of it and eventually would play with it again when their son got into legos. We would play “demolition derby” and have a marvelous time.

6520: Mobile Outpost

This might have been the coolest set (pun intended I guess). So many fun parts, multiple vehicles, grappling hooks, winter gear, a mobile lab and that sick “Arctic” logo to top it all off. When I was little I did think that the gas tank (?) was a mustard dispenser.

LEGO Town: Pizza To Go (6350)

This set was SO good that I never took it apart. It has been on my bookshelf ever since I played with it.

6774: Alpha Team ATV

Seeing this box was a true Jimmy Neutron’s “Brain Blast”. I remember putting this together at the table as my dad was hanging around the kitchen. I kinda remember that there was a mini comic that came with the Alpha Team sets? Was that real? Anyways, I loved playing with my Alpha Team sets- nonstop adventures. I particularly loved the neon yellow pieces.

6773: Alpha Team Helicopter

DASH. Look how cool he is! He was my favorite figure and go to action hero when I needed one.

6771: Ogel Command Striker

I JUST realized his name is LEGO backwards. Anyways, how cool is it that the enemy of the Alpha Team was named Ogel and his transportation was a South Florida fan boat. At least he did have a cool Darth Vader-like suit to top it off.
